Juniper Clinic, Stockton Heath

A gentle hybrid of talking therapy and hypnotherapy

Fertility struggles, failed rounds and loss take a toll that rarely shows on a scan or in a blood test. Many of the people we see have spent months or years holding it together in front of everybody else.

Our emotional support sessions combine talking therapy with hypnotherapy. Talking gives you space to be heard. Hypnotherapy uses guided relaxation and focused attention to help you feel calmer and more in control. Together they offer a gentle, steady place to put what you have been carrying.

Hypnotherapy and emotional support: your questions

Will I be “put under”?

No. Hypnotherapy is a state of deep relaxation and focus. You are aware throughout and stay in control.

Can my partner come too?

Yes. Gaynor often works with couples, and with each partner individually where that is more helpful.

Is this a replacement for counselling or mental health care?

It is a supportive service and does not replace specialist mental health care. If you are struggling to cope, please speak to your GP. If you are in crisis, call 999 or Samaritans on 116 123.

Is it confidential?

Yes. What you share stays between you and your practitioner.
